The Culinary Institute of America was founded in 1946. It is located in Hyde Park, NY. Where to go to college is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.     "The Culinary Institute of America is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, 215-662-5000. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation."

    The CIA is also accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). The certificate of accreditation is available for viewing on the wall of the President's Wing on the second floor of Roth Hall. Supporting documentation can be reviewed in the office of the associate vice president of planning, research, and accreditation, located on the third floor of Roth Hall.
