Soul Fire Farm, a CSA farm that is Certified Naturally Grown and adheres to the Farmer’s Pledge for sustainable agriculture, is located at 1972 State Route 2, Petersburg NY 12138, Rensselaer County in the Hudson Valley.

From Soul Fire Farm: "Soul Fire Farm is a family farm committed to dismantling the oppressive structures that misguide our food system. We live on 72 acres and intensively grow produce for 50+ families on 1 acre and meat and eggs on an additional acre.

"The immersion program is designed for novice farmers to get basic skills in planting, weeding, harvesting, hand tool use, and whole foods preparation. Each day will include 6 hours of real work on the farm, a 1 hour class on sustainable living skills, and 1 hour reflection on our place in the food system as Diasporic people. Participants will be camping outdoors and have access to a comfortable naturally built home for meals, bathrooms, and leisure. We will prepare meals and clean up together as a community."

"Protect the environment by supporting a farm where the farmers take care of the land, nurture the soil, and conserve energy. By eating local, you reduce the number of miles your food travels to get to your plate. Soul Fire Farm crops are Certified Naturally Grown and adhere to the Farmer’s Pledge for sustainable agriculture."

Eating local also means you reduce the number of miles your food travels to get to your plate.

    Contribute to Social Justice
"Soul Fire Farm is committed to making real food available to everyone, dismantling systemic racial and economic injustice in the process. We accept EBT, reserve a portion of our shares for low income families, and offer free educational programming for urban youth. We also share sustainable living skills, as far as Haiti and Brazil, and as near by as Troy, Albany, the Berkshires, NYC, and the Hudson Valley. Your participation supports this work for a just food system.
