Fishkill Farms' Certifications Eco-Apple & Farmer's Pledge

Fishkill Farms is Eco-Apple certified for sustainable and clean growing practices by Red Tomato, a third party certifier; for Fishkill Farm apples.

Our vegetables are grown according to organic standards, certified by NOFA-NY's Farmer's Pledge program, and we have recently started the transition of a block of our apple orchard to organic management.

Adams Fairacre Farms began in the early 1900s as a simple roadside farmstand in Poughkeepsie, New York . . . Adams now has a full-service Meat Department, Seafood Department, Deli, Prepared Foods Department, Cheese Department, Bakery, Sweet Shop, Gourmet Grocery, Gift Shop, Garden Center and Nursery.

Today, the family still picks the produce we sell, but not quite in the same way. Now we hand-select the very best fruits and vegetables available, buying from local growers whenever possible. It’s with a farmer’s eye that we choose the produce you see on display, like vine-ripened tomatoes, crisp greens, fresh chestnuts, tender asparagus, just-picked berries and much, much more. Be sure to read our helpful produce signs—most provide nutritional information, recipes or cooking tips.

Our new "Fresh Fruit Membership" at the Greig Farm includes all of our delicious farm fresh fruit. We do not use systemic chemicals and chose natural predators over the chemical solution whenever possible.

Choose from fruits and vegetables, raw honey and bee products, local wine, cider and fruit juices, jams, jellies, cow, sheep and goat cheeses, cut flowers, breads and baked goods. Select free-range poultry and eggs including chicken, turkey, pheasant; farm-raised meats including beef, lamb, and venison; smokehouse products including fish, cheese and meats for the table. Potted herbs and nursery plants delight cooks and gardeners; refreshing soaps and skin-care products soothe all.

Our market is a bustling Sunday morning event that includes live music performances, product and cooking demonstrations, and celebrations of harvest holidays and traditions.
